We arrived to the Golden Age Center bright and early one morning where we were welcomed but so many wonderful women. From the moment we entered the room, I felt the love and openness. Although this was a women's symposium men were in attendance, which was amazing considering that we had an abundant amount of information to share relating to prostate cancer and they too could share the information about ovarian and breast cancer to their wives, daughters, cousins, etc.

During the symposium we each presented on a given topic and I had the opportunity to share my knowledge on ovarian cancer. While presenting I was enlightened on the importance of this information and the value it hold to these women. Educating is much more than words, it's a way to spread awareness and open the minds of others. I was able to do this for these women and the women they share this information to.

After this we were able to continue our acts of service and performed blood pressure and blood sugar checks along with demonstrating how to perform self breast exams and presenting exercises they could perform to improve their health.

This whole experience was impactful and the gratitude we received for it was more than enough with a bonus of amazing food and juice. I found a love for teaching that I never knew I held within me.
